[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When a system controller (100) has judged that a reserved content is already recorded in a recording medium (18) according to a program name of the reserved content, no new program name is created and the chapter number of management data of the content recorded in the recording medium (18) and the total recording time are set (a new chapter mark is set at the boundary between the contents and the total recording time is calculated from the total recording time of the contents already recorded). When the recording is started, the reserved content is additionally recorded at the end of the content recorded in the recording medium (18). The management data is updated when the recording is complete.
