<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify not only the number of moving objects passing through but also their kinds by efficient processing of less amount of information processing on moving objects even if there is an obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: An arithmetic unit 10 obtains line-type frame images 56 of multiple kinds of moving objects while they change with respect to one line crossing a moving direction of the objects, and couples the line-type frame images 56 to each other in a reverse direction to the moving direction in time order to produce an extracted sample image 60. On the other hand, the unit 10 stores, in a storage device 8, predetermined registered pattern images 62 so as to correspond to the extracted sample image 60. The unit 10 compares the produced extracted sample image 60 with the registered pattern images 62 stored in the storage device 8 by DP matching, determines whether the extracted sample image 60 matches any kind of registered pattern images 62, and identifies the moving object as that according to the kind of the matched registered pattern image 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
