<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct distortion of a display image on an active matrix type display such as a plasma display. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes load calculation sections 31 and 32 which calculate loads by display lines based upon display data and luminance correction sections 33, 34, 35, and 36 which correct luminances of the display data by the display lines based upon the loads.
