PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high affinity interleukin-4 (IL4) antagonist inhibiting eosinophilic inflammation and further capable of treating, preventing and diagnosing allergic reaction, and use thereof.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is a fusion protein having binding specificity for human IL4 which comprises complementarity determining regions (CDRs) derived from a non-human neutralizing monoclonal antibody characterized by a dissociation constant equal to or less than 2×10-10M for human IL4, and human or humanized framework regions.
