<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which display quality of a liquid crystal display panel is improved and visibility of a display medium disposed on the rear side of the liquid crystal display panel is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is characterized by having a surface light source device 15 which is disposed between the liquid crystal display panel 2 and the display medium 110 and which illuminates the liquid crystal display panel 2 from the rear side thereof, is equipped with a light source 22, a light guide body 21 having an opening portion 21A opposite to the display medium 110 and emitting radiation light from the light source 22 to the liquid crystal display panel 2, and optical sheets 24 and 26 laminated between the liquid crystal display panel 2 and the light guide body 21 and imparting prescribed characteristics to the light emitted from the light guide body 21, wherein the optical sheet 24 and the second optical sheet 26 have opening portions 24A and 26A opposite to the display medium 110, and the optical sheet 26 on the liquid crystal display panel 2 side is disposed so as to cover an edge defining the opening portion 24A of the optical sheet 24 on the light guide body 21 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
