PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor a database system without connecting the database system. SOLUTION: When a plurality of data packets between a plurality of operation servers including the database system and a plurality of client application processes are transmitted and received by an SQL (structured query language) net protocol (SQL Net Protocol) or a BEQ protocol, the data packets are collected through sniffing (Sniffing) by a monitoring process or another pipe gateway process, the entire SQL information transmitted between the operation servers and the client application processes is left behind, and performance information of the database is extracted from monitoring items measured here. It is possible to efficiently monitor the entire SQL information and the database performance information by giving no load to the database, the operation servers and a network system and with a minimum load.
