PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface protective film having a base material not only excellent in an elastic modulus at an ordinary temperature but also having high toughness at a low temperature of 0°C or not higher than 0°C. SOLUTION: This surface protective film is formed by laminating a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on a polyolefin-based base material, wherein the polyolefin-based base material has a sea-island structure composed of a sea-phase comprising a polypropylene component and island-phases each comprising an olefin-based elastomer, a mean distance between the island phases is not more than 600 nm, when measured by an electron microscope, and an elastic modulus in tension of 300-2000 MPa, when measured according to JIS K 7127 at 23°C.
