PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing acrylic polymer powder having good productivity, affording the resultant molded product using the acrylic polymer and having good water resistance and warm water whitening resistance without generating toxic gases, etc., during incineration and to provide a plastisol composition providing the resultant molded product having the good water resistance and warm water whitening resistance. SOLUTION: The method for production comprises the following steps; a step of polymerizing a monomer by carrying out suspension polymerization or soap-free emulsion polymerization and affording a polymer dispersion containing the resultant polymer particles; a step of dropping an acrylic monomer mixture containing a reactive emulsifying agent into the resultant polymer dispersion and affording an acrylic polymer dispersion in which coatings are formed on the polymer particles; and a step of spray drying the obtained acrylic polymer dispersion and thereby recovering the acrylic polymer powder.
