PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a lift cage usable by a service engineer, and having a stable aperiodic work surface. SOLUTION: This lift cage 3 has at least partly lowerable cage roof 4 and 1 serving in a lowered state as a maintenance platform. The lift cage 3 comprises, at the lowerable cage roof 4 and 1, at least one device 20 mechanically stabilizing the lowerable cage roof 4 and 1 against movements in a horizontal plane.
