A method for forwarding data comprises that set up at least one logical port in the two network element connected directly with each other respectively; bind the logical port of each network element with the at least two physical ports of the network element which are connected with the opposite network element; the network element determines the egress port for forwarding data when forwarding data, and judges the determined egress port is whether a logical port or a physical port, if it is a logical port, the network element selects a physical port from the physical ports bound with the logical port, and sends the data to be forwarded from the selected physical port; if it is a physical port, the network element sends the data to be forwarded from the physical port as a egress port. There is a network element for forwarding data, the method and network element of the invention can improve the reliability of forwarding data of a network element and increase the communication bandwidth of forwarding data of a network element obviously. |
