The present invention concerns ubiquitin specific protease 2 (USP2), in particular, the three-dimensional structure of USP2. Methods of expression, purification and crystallization of USP2 are provided in preparation for crystallography. The atomic coordinates of a complex of USP2 complexed with parts of the pro-sequence are also provided.
