<p>A turntable ladder or telescopic mast turns in horizontal azimuth (14) and has a power-operated extension and retraction drive mechanism with lever operation with a limiting switch. When the limiting switch is engaged, movement of the mast is limited to purely vertical motion, lateral azimuth motion being suppressed. The controls are operate e.g. by a fire fighter in a basket or on a platform.</p> |
