A french door type refrigerator is provided to open and close a home bar door, and prevent the door from being bumped with other member by allowing a user only to push the door. In a french door type refrigerator having a pair of right and left doors opened and closed by pushing at a cooling chamber formed at the upper unit, a door opened and closed by sliding at a freezer compartment formed at the lower unit, the refrigerator of French door type comprises an opening unit(41) formed at one door of cooling chamber doors to communicate the outside and inside of the refrigerator; a home-bar frame(45) forming a frame of the opening unit; a home-bar door(42) of which one end combined with a hinge at the home-bar frame to open and close the opening unit by opening and closing operation; a latch member(44) installed at the upper unit of either the home-bar door or the home-bar frame; a damper member(43) installed on a hinge axis connecting the home-bar door and the home-bar frame to provide the rotation of the home-bar door with the damping force ; and a latch assembly(46) installed at the position corresponding to the latch member at either the home-bar door or the home-bar frame when the home-bar door is closed at the home-bar frame, formed with a groove where the latch member fits in and out. When the latch member is inserted through the groove, the home-bar door is locked and the door is unlocked by the pressing force given to the home-bar door. |
