PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of fogging and toner remaining after transfer in nonmagnetic contact development. SOLUTION: The developing device is a magnetic contact developing device. As a developer t1, a spherical insulating one-component magnetic developer having a circularity not less than 0.97 is used. A developing bias in which an AC bias is superimposed on a DC bias is applied to a developer carrier 3b. In the developing bias, a frequency f is 4×Vp/d≤f≤40×Vp/d [Hz] and Vpp is 100≤Vpp≤350 [V] (Vp:the velocity of a body to be developed, d:a developing nip width). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
