PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a combination of components of a rectangle patch antenna so as to be capable of configuring three kinds of linearly polarized wave antenna, a right-handed rotatory polarized wave antenna, and a left-handed rotatory polarized wave antenna with one structure, and also to achieve MIMO communication suitable for a radio wave environment by utilizing the rectangle patch antenna set to an optimum state. SOLUTION: A device includes: a conductive main exciting element 51 located on an octagonal insulation board 29; sub exciting elements P1 to P4 for polarized wave control located at four corners in diagonal line directions of the main exciting element 51; and control electrodes 52a to 52d respectively arranged to the sub exciting elements P1 to P4, and controls the sub exciting elements P1 to P4 to be conductive or insulating to switch polarized waves emitted from the rectangle patch antenna. Since the antenna system can separately control the conductivity/insulation of the sub exciting elements P1 to P4, the antenna system can combine the main exciting element 51 and the sub exciting elements P1 to P4.
