PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ketal synthesizing apparatus capable of forming a purer ketal than ever, and to provide a ketal synthesizing method. SOLUTION: This ketal synthesizing apparatus 24 is equipped with a ketal synthesizing apparatus main body 41 and a decanter 42. The ketal synthesizing apparatus main body 41 is used for forming a ketal mixed liquid 51 containing the ketal from the ketone and the alcohol. The decanter 42 is used for mixing water into the ketal mixed liquid 51 and separating the liquid into two liquid phases comprising a first-phase mixed liquid 53 and second-phase mixed liquid 54. At this time, the first-phase mixed liquid 53 contains the water in an amount more than that contained in the second-phase mixed liquid 54. The second-phase mixed liquid 54 contains the ketal in an amount more than that contained in the first-phase mixed liquid 53. The ketal mixed liquid 51 comprises a single phase, when a small amount of the water is mixed thereinto, and is separated into the two liquid phases, when an enough amount of the water is mixed thereinto. The ketal synthesizing apparatus 24 efficiently separates the water and the ketal from each other, by conducting separation into the two liquid phases, so that the purer ketal is formed by the apparatus.
