PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a density unevenness which occurs resulting from the carrying speed variation of a driving system. SOLUTION: A heat energy to be applied to a recording paper 2 is calculated on the basis of the image data for each picture element for one line portion, and a carrying load quantity and a carrying load variation quantity at the time of recording of each line are obtained on the basis of the heat energy. The spring coefficient of a belt used at a carrying section 3 is obtained from the carrying load quantity. A carrying speed variation quantity is obtained by performing a convoluting integration in a line section in which the carrying load variation occurs. A correction heat energy which is charged to the section in which the density unevenness occurs on the basis of the carrying speed variation quantity. The sum of the compensation heat energy and the heat energy is charged to the recording paper 2 as a compensation printing energy. Thus, the density unevenness caused by the carrying speed variation is surely prevented from occurring. Also, the spring coefficient is determined in response to the carrying load quantity, and the more accurate carrying speed variation quantity is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
