FACSIMILE MACHINE WITH TELEVISION FUNCTION

Reception of a television broadcast or storage of received audio/video information is carried out by using the function which a facsimile machine has. A facsimile machine (1) with a television function carries out facsimile communication through a public line and comprises a television video receiving section (31) and a recording large-capacity storage unit (32). The television video receiving section (31) can receive a television broadcast. In the recording large-capacity storage unit (32), the image transmitted/received through facsimile communication and audio/video information included in the television broadcast signal received by the television video receiving section (31) can be stored. As a facsimile machine, a storage unit such as a memory function is required, and the received audio/video information can be stored by using the memory function which the facsimile machine has. Reception and storage of audio/video information and their programming can be also carried out by using the communication function or document reading function provided as a facsimile machine.
