[PROBLEMS] There has been a problem that an optical axis alignment step is needed when a receptacle constituting an optical connector is assembled since a receptacle is composed of at least two component, i.e., an insertion section into which a plug is inserted and a body section where an optical element is provided and the optical axis of the optical fiber at the end of the plug must be aligned with the optical axis of the optical element. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A body section and an insertion section are integrally formed. Pads and wirings for electrically interconnecting the pads are formed on the surface of the body section. An optical element is disposed on the surface of the body section, the pads, or the wirings. The optical element is electrically connected directly to a part of the pads.
