<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device for a vehicular rear end collision, capable of preventing an occupant from moving obliquely backward along a seat back to protect occupant head, if the seat back tilts backward at the time of rear end collision of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant protection device for vehicular rear end collision is installed near a back window of a vehicle body rear end portion, and protects an occupant seated in the rearmost seat having a headrest supported at an upper end portion of the seat back so as to vertically move. The occupant protection device for vehicular rear end collision is provided with a rear end collision sensor detecting the rear end collision of the vehicle, and an airbag device 31 having an airbag cushion 34 moving the headrest 13 upward when the rear end collision sensor detects the rear end collision of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
