<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of mixing of hot water returning to the downside of a hot water tank after being given heat for heating and low-temperature water replenished from a water line, resulting in the generation of a large amount of medium-temperature water not usable for the supply of hot water; and a problem of having to continue heating operation under conditions where the efficiency of energy consumption is relatively poor because water entering a heat pump type heating means becomes medium-temperature water. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater includes a heat pump heating means 11 for heating hot water in the hot water tank 1; a heat exchanger 4 provided in a primary circuit 3 connected from the top to the bottom of the hot water tank 1; a secondary circuit 6 where the heat exchanger 4 is connected to a radiational means 7; and a temperature detecting means 2 for detecting the temperature of the hot water in the bottom of the hot water tank 1. When the radiational means 7 starts releasing heat and the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 2 is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, the heat pump heating means 11 is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
