PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing manufacturing processes, improving the uniformity of cell gap between substrates and materializing the narrower frame width as compared with the conventional LCD, and to provide the manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 1, column spacers 3 and a wall 5 are formed simultaneously on one side of a pair of substrates, an adhesive solution prepared by diluting an adhesive with an organic solvent is dropped on the substrate on which the column spacers 3 and the wall 5 are formed, the other side substrate is superposed on the above substrate while facing the same, the adhesive solution is dried and the other side substrate is bonded via the adhesive remaining on the upper part surfaces of the column spacers 3 and the wall 5.
