PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure fuel injection quantity without causing misfire in an actual internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: Fuel injection time TAU is calculated based on engine rotation speed NE and intake air quantity Ga. The engine is operated by opening an injector for fuel injection based on the calculated fuel injection time TAU. In this operation condition, fuel injection quantity QF corresponding to fuel injection time TAU is measured. In here, the engine rotation speed NE is set to a predetermined value NE1 beforehand at first. Intake air quantity Ga is adjusted by adjusting a throttle valve opening in an approximation range value in which fuel injection time approximates target value TAU1 next. Then, the fuel injection time TAU is set to the target value TAU1 when the fuel injection time TAU is the approximate range value TAU. Then, fuel injection quantity QF provided by opening the injector 7 and injecting fuel based on the set target value TAU1 is measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
