METHOD FOR GRANULATING RAW MATERIAL TO BE SINTERED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for granulating such a raw material to be sintered as to improve the production rate of a sintered ore and improve the cost for gas quantity. SOLUTION: (1) This granulating method for preparing a raw material to be sintered comprises the steps of: preparing the raw material to be sintered of which the water content is adjusted to 7.5 to 9.0% by mass%; then granulating it; and drying the grain between a granulating machine 1 and an exit side of an ore-feeding section 4 of a sintering machine 3 with the use of a high-temperature gas to reduce the water content in the granulated raw material. (2) The granulating method for preparing a raw material to be sintered comprises the steps of: preparing one part of the raw material to be sintered of which the water content is adjusted to 6.5 to 12.0%; then granulating it; and drying the grain in the granulating machine or on a belt conveyor for transporting the granulated raw material with the use of a high-temperature gas to reduce the water content in the granulated raw material. The amount of the reduced water content (evaporated water quantity) is preferably controlled to 0.2 to 2.0%. It is effective to blend iron ore containing Al2O3of 1.0% or more (blending ratio of 40% or more) with one part of the raw material to be sintered, or to use a high-speed stirring mixer and a drum mixer when granulating the raw material.
