PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt welding deformation-experiment test piece for correctly performing the quantitative evaluation by eliminating the effect of misalignment and initial imperfections. SOLUTION: The test piece comprises a test piece body (1) consisting of one metal plate, a pair of tabs (2, 3) which are protruded from the peripheral edge of the test piece body outwardly in a separate manner from each other, and continuously integrated with the test piece body, and a welding groove (4) having a V-shaped cross section simulating a V-shaped groove which extends straight from the vicinity of a center of one tab out of the pair of tabs to the vicinity of a center of the other tab on one plane of the pair of tabs and the test piece body.
