A method and apparatus for telephone based directory advertising. The device features a telephone directory for advertisers that employs the advertiser's business card as the artwork for business card dimensioned advertisements. Customer retention and response is enhanced by the employment of grid lined maps. Geographic designators are situated adjacent to each business card advertisement which relate to specific locations on the maps. Customization by the user is provided for through the provision of pages adapted to engage and hold customer retained business cards thereby encouraging retention of the directory.
