<p>A starter of a small engine capable of securely start the engine by sufficiently storing a force in an accumulation coil spring. A stopper (31) with an engagement part (31a) engageable with the rear side end part (32) of the recessed part (30) of a cam plate (12) in the rotating direction is disposed near the cam plate formed integrally with a pulley (5) fixed to the crankshaft of the engine and having the recessed part formed at a part of the peripheral edge of a disk. The starter comprises an energizing means (40) supporting the stopper (31) movably between an engagement position where the engagement part (31a) is engaged with the recessed part and an avoidance position where the engagement part is retreated from the peripheral edge of the cam plate (12) and normally energizing it to move to the avoidance position, and also capable of movingly operating the stopper to the engagement part from the outside and energizing to stopper to prevent it from moving to the avoidance position until a rotating load of a prescribed value or higher is applied to the cam plate (12) at the engagement position.</p> |
