<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for obtaining an energy-saving effect without losing the convenience of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises a print data reception section for receiving print data to which a host computer added urgency; a print data storage section for storing the print data; a print section for printing the print data; and a print control section for determining whether the received print data are printed by the print section or are stored at the print data storage section. Based on the urgency added to the print data, the print control section determines whether the printer in a power-saving state is recovered to a standby state for printing, or the print data are stored in the print data storage section and when a prescribed event occurs the printer is recovered to a standby state for printing the stored print data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
