<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of making an output image to be well enhanced one whose edge is effective, and capable of saving recording materials to be used for a printing process when an input image is to be printed out after being performed an edge enhancing process. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing device 1 comprises an enlargement processing circuit 12 for processing enlargement of the input image, an edge detecting circuit 20 for detecting pixels at an edge portion within a character line image area from enlarged image acquired from an enlargement process, and a print image data producing circuit 27 for performing the edge enhancing process for enhancing images at the edge portion by adding concentration gradient to each pixel so that density of pixels between the edge portions sandwiched by pixels at a detected edge portion becomes lower than density of the pixels at the edge portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
