PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various character effects by adding a graphic element in accordance with a key input in a character input screen of a mobile station.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for giving visual effects onto a character input in a mobile station. The method includes: a first step of providing a background according to a selected visual character theme on an input window of the mobile station by selecting the visual character theme for giving a visual effect to a character input; a second step of receiving a requirement to a character output in the mobile station; a third step of adding a visual effect corresponding to the selected visual character theme to an input character; and a fourth step of outputting the visual character to which the visual effect is added, on the provided background.
