PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the looseness of a friction pad during braking and prevent the generation of abnormal noises and uplift of the friction pad. SOLUTION: A caliper bracket 3 has a pair of caliper supporting arms 3a, 3b extending over the outer edge of a disc rotor 2 and pad guide grooves 3c, 3d opposed to each other and provided on both caliper supporting arms 3a, 3b. Ear pieces 6b, 6c of the friction pad 6 are borne in the pad guide grooves 3c, 3d via pad retainers 9, 10. The pad retainer 9 is arranged between the pad guide groove 3c and the ear piece 6b on a disc turn-in side during forward movement of a vehicle, and it has an elastic thrust portion 9a provided at an abutting portion of the ear piece 6b on a disc turn-in side end face 6e and curved and protruded to the disc turn-in side. The elastic thrust portion 9a consists of an outer periphery side elastic thrust portion 9e for abutting on the disc outer periphery side of the ear piece 6b and an inner periphery side elastic thrust portion 9f for abutting on the disc inner periphery side of the ear piece 6b.
