PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an engine capable of permitting a driver of a vehicle to operate the engine at the maximum engine speed at least in a short time in a specific state while preventing a temperature of engine oil from reaching a high level exceeding a tolerance range. SOLUTION: The temperature of lubricating fluid in the engine is determined similarly with a first engine speed limit and a second engine speed limit. When the temperature of the lubricating fluid is between a first predetermined temperature and a second predetermined temperature, operation of the engine in the first engine speed limit is restricted to the predetermined time. When the engine is operated in the first engine speed limit for the predetermined time and then the temperature of the lubricating fluid is between the first predetermined temperature and the second predetermined temperature, operation of the engine is temporarily restricted to the second engine speed limit at least.
