ADJUSTING METHOD FOR VALVE GEAR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting method for a valve gear for adjusting opening and closing characteristics of an engine valve to desirable characteristics through simple work. SOLUTION: This adjusting method is applied to the valve gear provided with a rocker arm 21 whose one end is supported by a rash adjuster 22 and which opens, closes, and drives an intake valve 9 abutting on the other end by swinging it based on rotation of a cam 11a and an opening and closing characteristic changing mechanism 14 for changing amount of swing of the rocker arm 21 and changing opening and closing characteristics of the intake valve 9. A stem cap 24 is provided between the intake valve 9 and the rocker arm 21. A plurality of kinds of stem caps 24 having parts positioned between the intake valve 9 and the rocker arm 21 and having different thickness are prepared to select a specific one stem cap among the plurality of kinds of stem caps 24 when assembling the valve gear.
