PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite article excellent in mechanical properties such as bending strength and to provide a method for producing the article. SOLUTION: The composite article comprises a hydrolyzed condensate of a compound (I) and a silicone-containing polymer, wherein the compound (I) contains a metal atom (M) to which at least one atom group selected from a halogen atom and an alkoxy group is bound and the silicone-containing polymer contains a structural unit derived from a monomer (A) and a monomer (B), the monomer (A) being one shown by the following formula (1) and the monomer (B) being a vinyl compound and/or a carboxylic acid vinyl ester containing a nitrogen-containing hetero ring.
