PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin capable of being suitably used in an optical material and an optical component which reduces birefringence, excels in transparency, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability, has a large refractive index, a small Abbe number, high heat resistance, and good flowability, and does not cause discoloration and turbidity even in harsh circumstances at high temperature and humidity. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises a polyester polymer composed of a dicarboxylic acid and a dihydroxy compound, and the dicarboxylic acid is mainly naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and/or its ester-formable derivative and the dihydroxy compound contains a fluorene based dihydroxy compound, and the resin composition has an Abbe number of d-line of≤23 and a glass transition temperature of≥130°C, and contains at least one phosphoric acid derivative and/or a phosphorous acid derivative.
