PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shift lever etc. from rattling using a bearing member without impairing the operating easiness of the shift lever. SOLUTION: In the operating positions P, R, N, a ridge 50 provided on a side plate 12a gets on the end face except a groove 52 in a bearing bushing 22 to cause the deformation amount of the bushing 22 to become large, and presses a control member 16 and a shift shaft 14 in the axial direction with a large pressing force based on the deformation amount, so that the control member 16, the shift shaft 14, and the shift lever mounted no the shift shaft 14 can be prevented from rattling, noise emission, etc. in good performance, while in the D-position, the ridge 50 intrudes into the groove 52 to cause the deformation amount of the bearing bushing 22 to lessen, to result in a reduction of the sliding resistance of the shift shaft 14, which allows managing with a less set spring load of a clicking spring in order to return automatically the shift lever in the S-position and also reducing the operating resistance when the shift lever is turned to the (+)-position or (-)-position to lead to establishment of excellent operating easiness.
