A disc device (100) is provided with a turntable (221) arranged at a lower part of a case body (110), a temporarily fixing section arranged above the turntable (221), and a disc holding mechanism (320) which can move up and down between the turntable (221) and the temporarily fixing section. When a replacing disc is inserted through a loading port in a status where a reproducing disc is loaded on the turntable (221), the disc device (100) permits the disc holding mechanism (320) to hold the replacing disc and permits the temporarily fixing section to temporarily fix the replacing disc. The disc device (100) permits the disc holding mechanism (320) to hold the reproducing disc, and when it is recognized that the disc is ejected through the disc loading port, the disc device permits the disc holding mechanism to hold the replacing disc temporarily fixed by the temporarily fixing section and load it on the turntable (221).
