<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an investigation support system capable of facilitating an investigation activity or an inspection activity in dispersed fields. <P>SOLUTION: This investigation support system 1 includes a server device 2 and an investigator terminal 3A, the server device 2 narrows choices to the investigator terminal 3A provided in each input step, based on input information input in an input step preceding thereto, and determines a cause of deterioration (damage), based on the choice selected in the each input step. The choice in each step is information as to structure of a building that is an investigation object, and information as to a material thereof, and the server device 2 narrows the choices in the next input step, and the cause of the deterioration, based on a causal relation between the structure and the material.
