PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system and method capable of avoiding spoof unauthorized use by others due to leakage of an ID and password effectively as a countermeasure for security against remote access using a mobile phone and performing user authentication safely and simply without needing instruments, such as a password generator, separately or storing positions and arrangements of all the numbers and characters. SOLUTION: A connection request is received from a proper portable terminal and a dedicated absolute URI which the server has enciphered an ID set by the terminal accessing a log-in absolute URI issued by the server and an individual identification number owned by the terminal is recorded as a pair of pieces of information. When the individual identification number of the portable terminal which has accessed to the dedicated absolute URI coincides with an individual identification number for specifying the recorded dedicated absolute URI in authenticating, log-in is allowed.
