PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous pulse light source of multiple wavelengths which generates synchronous optical pulses by using a mode synchronous semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: To semiconductor lasers 110', 110'' and 110''', the same sine wave from a sine wave power supply 122 is applied to an SA region in such a superimposed way on a reverse bias that the respective optical pulses are generated selectively to differ in the wavelengths (λ<SB>1</SB>,λ<SB>2</SB>andλ<SB>3</SB>) in respective external resonators 130', 130'' and 130'''. A current from a current source 126 is applied to a gain region in the respective semiconductor lasers 110', 110'' and 110'''. The optical pulse from the respective mode synchronous semiconductor lasers can be generated as two or more waves of ultra-short optical pulses of several picoseconds or less which are synchronized with the sine wave.
