PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposer with improved crushing property for matter difficult to crush, causing little stay of crushed garbage in a drain pipe even with a relatively small amount of supply water. SOLUTION: A crushing mechanism 4 of this disposer D is driven by a drive motor 3 to crush garbage, discharges the crushed garbage together with supplied water, and comprises a fixing ring 40 having fixed teeth 41 formed within the ring and a rotary disk-like turntable 44 located inside the fixing ring, rotated with the drive motor, having rotary blades 46 formed. The fixed teeth have teeth depth set to 0.8-1.6 mm. The rotary blade is formed by cutting and raising part of the outer periphery of the turntable 44. The turntable 44 preferably has cutout parts 45a at its outer periphery.
