PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide colored pure titanium or titanium alloy hardly causing discoloration in an air atmosphere by which excellent discoloration resistance can be exhibited even if titanium is used in a severe acid-rain environment such as a roof and a wall material, and deterioration in designability can be prevented over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The colored pure titanium or titanium alloy hardly causing discoloration in an air atmosphere is colored titanium obtained by an anodic oxidation method. In the colored titanium, an average phosphorus content in a region between the surface of a titanium-oxide layer formed on a titanium surface and a position at a depth of 40 nm from the surface of the titanium-oxide layer is made to ≤5.5 atomic%, and the average concentration of carbon in the region between the titanium surface and a position at a depth of 100 nm from the titanium surface is made to 3 to 15 atomic%.
