PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor with higher performance, particularly an electric double layer capacitor with higher power density, and improve productivity in the fabrication process of the electric double layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor of low impedance includes a positive pole and a negative pole polarizable electrodes containing a nonporous carbon as an electrode active material facing each other via a separator in an electrolyte containing an ionic solution. The polarizable electrodes contain a drawing aid. The method of fabricating the electric double layer capacitor includes a step of fabricating the polarizable electrodes by compounding and mixing the drawing aid in addition to the nonporous carbon and a binder.
