PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount antenna apparatus in a trio land structure in which radiation performance can be improved by creating a strong electromagnetic field between an antenna and a ground area without configuring another matching circuit. SOLUTION: The surface mount antenna apparatus comprises: a substrate including a ground pattern and a non-grounded area having a pair of confronted terminals defined by the ground pattern; a land structure including first and second lands for electrically connecting the confronted terminals of the non-grounded area and the ground pattern and an input pad disposed in the non-grounded area between the first and second lands separately from the first and second lands, respectively; and a chip antenna including first and second ground electrodes which are provided on a lower surface of a dielectric block, respectively, the first ground electrode being connected with the first land and the second ground electrode being connected with the second land, a feed electrode connected to the input pad, and a radiation electrode provided on a part of a side surface and an upper surface of the dielectric block and connected to at least one of the first ground electrode, the second ground electrode and the feed electrode.
