PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system for efficiently setting the same index value as that of a certain document in a target document by an intuitive and easily understandable operation by using a user interface. SOLUTION: When performing an operation to overlap a reference document whose index should be set on a target document in which an index value is set by a GUI operation using a mouse, an index value is captured from a reference document, and an operation to set the value in each item corresponding to the target document can be selected. Thus, it is possible to provide a data management device characterized to have a means for easily setting a plurality of index values only by a GUI operation without opening a setting screen.
