PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording display medium which does not spoil metallic gloss as a feature of cholesteric reflection color even when reducing the amount of use of liquid crystal compound, moreover, has a sufficient strength, has a liquid crystal layer excellent in adhesiveness with the surface layer, is excellent in a color development property and whose cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the recording display medium made by laminating the liquid crystal layer and the surface layer in the order on the substrate, the liquid crystal layer includes a cholesteric liquid crystal compound which develops color in accordance with heating temperatures in the liquid crystal state and retains the color-developing state by quenching the liquid crystal layer from the color-developing temperature, and polyether type resin.
