PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end section of an endoscope which controls the halation generated in an endoscope observation image and can improve an observation capability by constituting a direction of an illumination optical axis radiated from an illumination window to be variable without the increase in size of the distal end of an insertion section. SOLUTION: A pair of transparent members 8 the opposed surfaces of which are formed into inclined planes inclined relative to a direction of an axis are disposed inside the illumination window 6 at an interval which is variable in the direction of the axis and the direction of the optical axis 6x of the illumination light radiated from the illumination window 6 is changed by changing the axial interval of the pair of the transparent members 8.
