PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rearing small fishes, by which the small fishes can be reared without causing the quality deterioration of water in a rearing aquarium and without inhibiting the normal growth of the small fishes. SOLUTION: The rearing aquarium of the present invention is characterized by satisfying a water surface area : longitudinal cross-sectional area (wherein, the longitudinal cross-sectional area is the longitudinal cross-sectional area of a portion having the largest area among the longitudinal sections of the rearing aquarium) =0.5 to 1:1.
