The system has an optical sensor device and a recording device (12) coupled with the sensor device and activated in an incident-based manner to record data detected by the sensor device. A control unit (14) is provided for the controlling of the sensor device and the recording device. A recognition unit has a sensor to recognize the incident e.g. object movement around a vehicle, where the incident is defined by pre-determined criteria.
