The invention relates to a mop handle comprising a support which is arranged in the lower part thereof and provided with at least three lifting points remote from each other and which is upwardly and downwardly movable by means of a control rod which enables a handle-brush assembly to be autonomous in the vertical position thereof and to avoid any contact of the bristle tips of a brush with ground. The inventive handle consists of a handle (1) comprising one or several longitudinal slots (5) in the lower part thereof making it possible to fix the support (2) to the rod (3). A push-button (4) fixed to the rod (3) makes it possible to upwardly and downwardly operate with the support (2). The rod is locked in the lower position by a pin (8). A pressure produced on the pin enables a spring to lift the support (2). The location and the length of the slot (5) enables the support (2) to be sufficiently translational in such a way that it is released during operation and to avoid any contact between the bristle tips of the brush (7) with the ground during storage.
